Neck Deep in trouble, we are. I have been waiting for a national address or at least a widely covered press conference from the PM, or the President assuring citizens, but that is not happening. Instead, we see a reluctant new Home Minister, saying there were lacunae in the security setup.
Thanks, Mr. Chidambaram for enlightening us.
What Next?
Where is the action plan?
How many days does it take to devise one?
How many more bodies will we count?
How many days after the Sept 11, did the US take to bomb terrorist outfits in Afghanistan?
And, did they take our permission?
How many times will we parade around the world with our proof of Pakistan involvement? Don't you know nobody cares?
Why demand Pakistan to take action? They cannot set their own house in order!
Why go to the UN? Who is the UN, by the way?
Why ban organizations? We banned LTTE, I can see how much that helped. The US banned Al-Qaeda. They must be laughing their asses off somewhere.
Come on, Mr. Chidambaram, you are one of the most learned men in the parliament, a Harvard alumni, We have our hopes, expectations.

Here, in Mumbai, two people seem to be completely missing from the political picture. One is Raj Thackeray, and the other of course, is Bal Thackeray. Right after Babri Masjid was demolished, Thackeray, gave a provocative speech from his residence, Matoshree, calling for ethnic cleansing of Mumbai. This time, he is quiet, not because he is old, but because he knows and fears like all of us, if they can come to the Taj, Matoshree is not so far off!

ReplyDeleteAnother section missing is Bollywood.... may be I'm wrong.. but have the individuals who the city has given a home and much celebrity ... have they said anything.... and I'm talking about the big cats... the big stars how many of those have spoken up... not that they are obligated to .. but they are a big part of the city's culture... even so .. I'm glad the public reacted the way it did without any major celebrity enticing them to do so... but because they themselves felt empowered to... by that I mean I'm glad there was a peace rally and the fact that people came back to those places where these things happened and showed that terrorist cannot stop the heart of the city

ReplyDeletewell sorry for a late response, but yeah, i do remember this news channel going to various TV n movie stars and asking them about their opinions about the blasts.. n that was unsurprisingly disheartening.. they were SORRY for what happened.. n they hope it never happens again.. one lady even said that we should throw dawood out of india.. (phew!! someone go and tell her that this is what he is doing when he is out. in case he is in, just imagine urself).. i cant understand, when our PHOREN TRAINED, PHOREN SETTLED, PHOREN PASSPORT HOLDER, MULTI MILLIONAIRE SHOOOTER "ABHINAV BINDRA" gets 3 crores (plus incentives) on one medal, WHY THE HELL ON THIS EARTH WE GAVE 3 LAKHS TO THE COMMANDO'S FAMILY WHO DIED SAVING LIVES OF HUNDRED OTHERS.. he is not alive to be the brand ambassador of some underwear and even if he wud have been, he wudnt have been taken as he was not on TV as much as BINDRA.. its not that ZARDARI has taken an overdose of viagra and manmohan singh has suddenly decided to act like the dancers we used to see in ALIF LAILA, who dances only when u throw ASHARFIs on them (dont tell me u dont remember it.. ramanand sagar is still eating bread from that money).. its actually the unwillingness or the fear of reducing the prices of petrol n other things, to go in vain.. the only thing congress did in ages that ppl liked was reducing the prices of fuel, even though i m sure they still are in a position to reduce furthermore, but thats what we r not discussing here.. anything with pakistan can lead to muslims raging and with elections on head
ReplyDeletePM HAS NO BALLS TO DO IT..
ReplyDeletei also liked that article. but lalitha, this is india and not israel. I always believed that it is India, who should be in command of "who harrasess whom" but its sadly the other way round. but this is probably the first time in history of human civilization that a smaller country(in terms of everything) is harrassing a larger one because we Indian people always think that one day the other bad guy will improve(plus our gandhi philosophy!). I dont have anything agains gandhi but its time we think like bhagat singh or subhash chandra bose. what do you say?
